This film will use artists, critics, art historians, enemies, friends, lovers and some monkeys to prove Maurizio Cattelan's banana is the beginning and end of art history. We will use site-specific art investigation to demonstrate how and why this banana holds court to the Mona Lisa, Guernica, Goya and also a can of beans. In the wake of Burlesconi's death, we will find a portion of the Berlin Wall to tape this fruit to and have it documented by tourists on even larger walls: the Great Wall of China. The Guggenheim.
